Joelle Mast PhD, MD is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at New York Medical College. She is board certified in Child Neurology as well as in the subspecialties of Neurodevelopmental Disabilities and Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine. Dr. Mast received her PhD in Cognitive Psychology from The Ohio State University where she completed an NIMH fellow ship in developmental psychobiology. She trained in pediatrics and completed her pediatric neurology fellowship at The New York Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center. She remained there as an assistant professor in Neurology and Pediatrics where she was a member of the division of Neurophysiology and the Epilepsy Center and was the neurologist for the neonatal ICU. Her research centered on cortical visual development in infants. Dr. Mast subsequently spent many years as Chief Medical Officer at Blythedale Children’s Hospital. As Chief Science Officer she developed a research program in neurorehabilitation for children with stroke, cerebral palsy and other neurological conditions. Dr. Mast sees patients with the full spectrum of neurological conditions and also consults for the neonatal ICU at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital. “I am delighted to return to the full-time care of children with neurological conditions.
