Biography:

Barbara Milmore, FNP

Barbara’s career in nursing began in 1989 and includes a wide range of practical experience in hospital, school nursing, and primary care environments. She began her career as a medical-surgical nurse at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, where her unit specialized in providing cancer treatment as well as working with cardiac patients and patients with psychiatric issues. Following that, she worked as a rehabilitation nurse at Helen Hayes Hospital. As her family grew, she became a stay-at-home mom, during which period she spent time in the Washingtonville School District as a school nurse. Most recently she has been a nurse educator at Mount Saint Mary College. Barbara’s experience as a nurse, mother of four, and Washingtonville resident has given her an understanding of the challenges faced by families trying to balance a healthy lifestyle.

Barbara holds her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, New York, and her Master of Nursing from Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, New York. She is a member of the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York State, and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

In addition to spending time with her family, Barbara enjoys reading, gardening, zumba, and co-leading her daughter’s Girl Scout Troop. She loves to travel and see new places, especially if that place is a beach! With skydiving and zip-lining already crossed off her bucket list, she is always up for an adventure!
